I'm thinking of buying a Ford Fairmont EL 1998 with dual fuel but wanted to know how much longer it will run until major works are needed. The car has currently done around 215,000km and I was told by the car dealer that Fords generally do around 600,000km until they conk out but I'm skeptical about that figure as it seems too high.
Does anyone have any estimate of how long this car should last? Also, are there any common mechanical problems associated with the Fairmont EL that I should look out for?
