How long should Jeep Liberty brakes last?

My car is a 2006 and I am wondering if its time for the brakes to be replaced yet? How can I tell? What is the average cost of having them replaced? I have 50,000 miles on the car, it seems a little bit early to have to replace brakes. Is that right?
 
There is no exact time frame with brake pads. It all depends on driving conditions and habits. Take it to a shop and have them checked out. That is all you can do.
