How long should I wait?

I have applied online to a job at a hospital. The confirmation email stated no status updates would be give, but contacted if fit for job. It is my number one choice, and I fear if I apply elsewhere and get a response and then contacted by them, I will greatly regret it. I can wait a bit, but what is the general time to begin applying to other positions safely? It's been a couple days, which I know is early, but I don't know how long I should wait before applying elsewhere
 
Call back about you're app It shows you want the Job wait about a week then do the same thing over again...
