How long should I wait after having the contraceptive implant removed to do a pregnancy

test? It will be four weeks on tues since i had it removed, i tried a test today and it was negative. my boyfriend and i are trying for a baby but have no idea when my period is due and how long i should wait if i don't have one by tues (which i hope i don't!)
 
The pregnancy test looks for the HCG hormone which is not usually affected by contraceptives so a test can be done at any time. The pill contains progesterone and oestrogen in different levels depending on the brand. If your test today was negative then it is probably accurate. It may take a while for your cycle to get back to normal after removal of the implant so don't worry yet. Try not to get to obsessed with testing after every time you have sex or worrying about it as the stress can affect you also. A GP will usually wait for about 6 months before referring you to a fertility specialist if you haven't got pregnant by then.
