How long must I charge my new mobile phone for?

How long do I need to charge my brand new mobile phone (Nokia 6220 Classic) before I start using it? I have looked in the instruction manual and can't find anything...

Normally they don't say on the instruction manual how long to charge it for, which sucks, but it does state that if you under charge or over charge it, the battery power will run out quicker. So make sure you charge yours for at least 6 hours. Your phone will beep when it is ready to take out.. (Make sure you take it out then)
 
its best to let it completely die before ever charging it. then charge it for 24 hours straight (unless u have a life, then maybe overnight the first night should be efficient) remember to keep ur battery life longer u never want to charge ur phone unless its almost dead. u dont wanna charge it when its half way charged or anything else like that. the reason behind that is cell phone batteries r time oriented and if you charge it for 4 hours sometimes and 30 minutes other times and 2 hours some other times its going to mess up the timing of the battery and your phone will tell you it has a low battery when it may really only be half dead. im not sure why the first charge is suppose to be so long but it sure did good for me when i tried it with a new battery for my phone!
 
mine told me to charge it until it told me to take it out...
which was about 6 hours!!
 
Let the battery run almost all the way out and turn the phone off and charge it when you go to bed. I put mine on the charger at 11:00 PM and wake up at 8:00 to take it off.
