How long in jail would my parents get for saying this?

One day my brother attacked me and threw me across the room and starting taking shots at my head while i was on the ground... I threatened to call the cops but they said if I called the cops they wouldnt pay for my university education.

Is this against the law and how long in jail would they get if is?
