first scan? I am 16 weeks pregnant tomorrow (if you count it from the first day of my last period) and I rang up my doctors a week ago when I found out that I was, for an appointment with the midwife, this was on the 24th of june, I was then told I would have to wait until the 15th of July for an appointment with the midwife. This means I could possibly be 18 weeks pregnant before Ive even seen the midwife.
I know from research that most women have there first scan at around 12 weeks and then another one at around 20, but from what I have seen many women are left waiting at least 3/4 weeks after there booking appointment for a scan. This could possibly mean for me that I will be 21/22 weeks pregnant before I have a scan.
I popped into the surgery for my bounty pack of pregnancy information, on the day when the midwife sees everyone for there first appointment, whilst I was waiting I chatted to a women who was 8 weeks pregnant and had only waited a week for an appointment. I was a little angered by this as I felt that it wasn't fair, even though I understand everyone who's pregnant is just as important, I felt my appointment was more urgently needed.
I just wanted to know if any one can answer me in personal experience of how long the whole process took. How long did it take you for an appointment with the midwife? How long did it take from your first booking appointment to your first scan? I would be very great full for this information.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm a little nervous because I don't even know if my baby is healthy yet, its a little worrying, plus my local surgery doesn't seem very sympathetic...very worried!!

Thank-you Hannah
