How long for DVD prices to go down?

I'm quite (pleasantly) surprised at how cheap DVRAB are now.

I only really buy new release, full price DVRAB for a film I really liked.

I am shocked to see that they have the 2 disc edition of Knocked Up on Play for

If you shop around online and off you can usually find nice prices for most dvRAB, especially region 3 for new releases and some even not out here yet, usually in the

Thanks, only one I am looking to buy at the moment is Cloverfield special edition, I will probably buy that soon. Other one I want is Definitely Maybe but your general romcom type movies usually are at

Ususally Asda are the best place for quick reductions in DVRAB, but not major reductions if that makes sense.

Usually you can guess, if a DVD has a lot of shelf space and still a lot on the shelf come Friday, then within a month or two it will be reduced because they obviously have a lot of stock, that isn't selling.

Usually as someone said, romcoms are the most heavily reduced, down to

I got the Region 1 set last year for about that price too when I visited Hong Kong, see it in the shops here and haven't seen it lower than that yet. It's about

I can almost guarantee that your Hong Kong set is a bootleg.

If you have a dvd player that is NOT multiregion try it in there.

If it plays its a bootleg- the Heroes R1 set is R1 only.

I first bought it from an Amazon seller and when it arrived it looked like the R1 set except that although it said R1 on it it was in fact not region coded.

The packaging was superb as were the discs etc.

However my suspicions were aroused when I started to have playback problems at the layer changes on at least 2 discs- then one episode had no audio at all.

So I sent it back and replaced it with another purchase from another seller and sure enough it was R1 only as it was supposed to be

The original seller appeared to have been the victim of a scam and had several copies of these bootlegs but he removed it from Amazon the next day

Hong Kong is not R1 country and is the home of the famous "Asian Imports" that you see all the time on Ebay.

These are legit looking but are illegally pressed bootlegs

Let me know when you try it out

I'm surprised anyone would buy dvd's from somewhere like Hong Kong and expect it to be legit.

Figures have shown that well in excess of 90% of dvd sales in Hong Kong and China are bootleg discs.

Its such a problem that last year some of the big Hollywood studios announced plans to release legit discs for the same low prices as bootlegs in an attempt to stamp out the problem
