It also says that the sun is almost 400 times farther from Earth than the moon.

No answers please. I just need to know how to solve it. I am taking Astronomy and this is my homework.

the method to solve it is pretty straightforward. Look up the distance from the Earth to the Moon. Look up the speed of light. Make sure they are both in the same Units, then divide.

Multiply your answer by 400 for the Earth to Sun.

...the Moon is approx. 240,000 miles from Earth... Light travels at 186,000 miles per second... (the Sun is approx. 93,000,000 miles from the Earth)

there is no light on the moon, what seems like light is in fact the sun reflecting from the moon
