My classes start next week and I'm getting worried because I do not want to have to wait another semester to return to school. I'm completely reliant on grant money because of how little I make and the fact that I am an independent. I filled out my FAFSA back in late February, and re-registered at the school I had been going to previously. They told me that I would not be able to turn in any other FA paperwork until June 1st, so I waited. I got my papers in on June 2nd. They told me that they know I'm getting at least $4500, but until everything clears I have a chance of losing my classes that I've had booked since the first day of registration. My only option, according to them, if i want to keep my classes is to pay half of my tuition up front and take out a temporary loan that I will be reimbursed for. I don't have half of my tuition laying around! If I did I wouldn't need grants! I'm becoming very upset about how long it is taking and the fact that they aren't being much help...I've been there several time. To me, 2 1/2 months seems like more than enough time for them to get things straightened out.
