How long does it take Retin-A to work?

I've been using Retin-a for about 5 weeks and I don't see any reults. I just had a sudden breakout. I apply it everywhere on my face and I don't try up at all. How long should it take before I see positive results?
 
What do the package instructions/details say? I'm pretty sure it says it can take 12 weeks to see results. I'd read the package insert to make sure you're getting the information you need (and using it properly).
