How long does a person have to cancel a contract with a document preparer.?

I paid on late friday afternoon in advance . The contract says 1 day to cancel contract.Our verbal agreement was the papers would be ready no latter than tuesday.I called for 3 days with no return call and finally sent certified mail to not continue,that I was canceling service .
