how long do you have to wait to take a pregnancy test?

i had sex after my period.and now im trying to figure out how long do i have to wait til i should take a pregnanct test to find out if i am pregnant or not. and so far it has ben a week since the day i had sex.

An average cycle starts with a period on day one, ovulation on day 14, and being able to take a test on day 28. Therefore, work out where you are on your cycle and take the test on or after day 28.
