How long do I water my garden?

I live in Southeast Louisiana, I planted a 6ft by 24ft Raised bed Garden. It is about 1ft deep. I use a hose to water with, but seem to only get the first two inches of soil wet. I'm not sure how long i need to water and if I should water everyday if sunny? This is my first big garden and I would appreciate any advice. Thank you Lisa
