how long did your baby use a swing?

i do not have a swing, but i was thinking about getting one for my lil guy at Christmas. he will be 3 months old then. is it even worth it to buy one then, and how long do babies even use one? thanks
my son absolutely LOVES being rocked, but i cannot rock him all day lol
o and i should add that he is a very big baby. he is one month old and weighs about 14 pounds.
so do you think he would like it?

A swing is a great investment! Both my boys loved their swing! My oldest used it until he was 9 mos. My youngest is using it now, he's only 9 wks.

my son loved it, he used it until it broke (I think he was around nine months), my daughter hated it.
does he have an exercauser or a play gym?

I would get it as an 'early' Christmas present for the baby, since it will be the most use right now and up until around 5 months (depending on the abilities of the baby and how much they like the swing). I used it for about four months with my daughter and then seven months with my son. Our newborn is in it at the moment, sleeping so peacefully. It is a nice thing to have, but is not really useful much after five months (unless you have a small baby who really loves it, like my middle boy).
