How long did it take for your hair to return to its pre-chemo state, and

how did you care for it? I am in remission for Hodgkin's Lymphoma and am grateful to be doing very well, but I wish I could get my hair to be as it was prior to going through chemo. I was very lucky to be able to keep about 80% of my hair, but it was so weak I had to cut several inches off and refrain for using any heat products. It's still not nearly as shiny and pretty as it used to be, and it isn't growing as fast. My hair used to grow like a weed, and now it's like a half inch every two months. I haven't dyed my hair, and I try to let it air dry most of the time. I've considered cutting it extremely short - like the Mia Farrow cut that Michelle Williamson now has because I heard that if you cut off all the damaged hair it will grow back much faster. Has anyone here tried that? I'm just really scared I could chop it all off and then not have it grow back.

What products did you use for your hair? I've been using California Baby shampoo because it's gentle, but I don't know if it's really helping.

How old were you when you went through chemo, and did you care about your hair? I was diagnosed at 16 and seriously devastated about the possibility of losing it all (it was 3 inches above my waist at that time), as vain as that seems. The leader of my support group is now going through breast cancer again and doesn't care at all about losing hers. She was the one I whined to about my hair last year, and now I feel guilty for doing so. I feel bad to still care about it, but I just do. Did you make a big production about your hair too?
