How long can fish stay in the bag after you buy them?

I'm going to the store tomorrow to get fish for both my home aquarium and 2 work aquariums. Problem is that I have to spend an hour at home getting my fish acclimated before I take the other fish to work. The ride from the pet store is roughly a half hour depending on traffic. Making two trips to the store is not an option since I'm not allowed to use the car and I can't get a ride there more than 4 times a year =/ So will the fish be okay for 1-2 hours?
 
Yes , they will be ok as long as the temp. doesn't increase or decrease sharply in that time. The amount of air in the bag is important. More the better. Shipping from Florida to where I am takes about 12 hours. The fish make it fine.
