how long after ovulation can a blood test show pregnancy?

i ovulated on 7/2 i took a blood pregnancy on 7/9 it was negative but i am getting all the symptoms of pregnancy sore swollen breast nausa sleepiness gas ext,, did i test to soon
 
YES YES YES you tested too soon. On July 6th which is 8 dpo for me I had a blood test. I went back on July 8th to get my blood results which is now 10 dpo for me and the dr said "you arent pregnant". I said to him I just got a positive test at home yesterday which was 9dpo and he decided to order a urine and it came up positive so he ordered blood again two days after my first blood work was negative and he called me yesterday and said the blood is now positive... I couldnt believe it that at 8dpo blood was negative and he was just ready to say not pregnant and at 10 dpo the blood was positive..... Good Luck and dont rely on that blood test just yet!!!!
 
Be sure it's a BETA blood test which measures the actual amount of hCG in your blood, versus a qualitative blood test which works just like a urine test does.

A beta blood test can be done as early as 9 days after ovulation. So yes, you tested too early. Re-test on Monday.
