How likely am I to actually sell any photos if exhibited in a restaurant?

That largely depends on your photo. If you were doing cutting edge photo but not necessarily "PRETTY" they would not sell (especially in a restaurant). But if you were doing "pretty" stuff, you might get few sales.

My friend's father did that (at a restaurant), and lost money on the whole deal (with frames, etc.) But being a true artist, he kept on try and try, and now he has real show at gallery here and there.

so often it is NOT about sales and profit today. It is about exposure to public. Because if you are not out there, you just can't be seen by the public.

Good luck...

I've been given the opportunity to exhibit some of my photos on the walls of a local restaurant, how likely is it that i'd actually sell any?
also not sure whether there is much point because of the cost of buying frames and prints in the first place.
