Chess is a strategic game thats entertaining and also competitive. Yet it can be a symbol for war because it really seems like two sides opposing each other, seeking to destroy their enemy. (Even though pieces are just... captured, not killed '.') But Chess seems to really embody war, which may be the true nature of the game.
