How is service in the Chicagoland area?

I live in the Chicagoland area and I'm considering moving over to Cricket. I'm wondering how their service is in Chicago? Any SMS, MMS, Web issues? How's Call Quality? Dropped Calls? etc.... The reason I asked is because I have heard that in the past when Cricket enters a new area that they experience alot of "growing pains" and I'm just wondering how their service is coming along in this new market.

No carrier launches a new market without some issues. That said, Chicago is a very solid and robust network. They took their time and did a very good job. I was there for the launch and was all over the city. I had no issues whatsoever. But you can try it out for yourself.
 
Thanks Woof. So there is no misunderstandings between us, I was not trying to criticize Cricket or anything like that. I was just curious if Cricket has experience any issues with their new Network in Chicago. Also you're right that no carrier big or small has entered a new market without some issues.

So anybody else care to chime in on how well their service has been in the Chicagoland area?

Also, I know Cricket only operates 1700 freq range in Chicago. Does this have better building penetration compared to the 1900 freq range or is it about the same?
 
The only places Sprint may have an advantage would be very deep in concrete buildings, given that they have free roaming with Verizon/Alltel in the 850MHz band. However, at least in my area (where Cricket has been doing business for about a decade), Cricket's native coverage area is much much better than Sprint's. In town I have noticed full bars most of the time, while on Sprint it's not uncommon to only have one or two bars most of the time. I believe Cricket, like T-Mobile, heavily place towers in urban areas to make up for their high frequency and heavy network usage due to all the calls.
