How does a gun law protect anybody?
Do people actually thing a shooter is going to walk up to a school and see a no gun sign and say "GOSH Darn-it!" and go back to his car and get his school books and just go ahead and be a good person?

How is it logical to think that people are just going to start shooting each other up because they have a gun? The gun doesn't drive someone insane, it is a tool for killing, just like a knife. You protect yourself with it. Do you think your best friend is going to be handed a gun and then shoot you because he has a gun now?
Criminals actually ADMIT that they wouldn't burglarize a home if they thought the owner had a gun, because they don't want to DIE! They are scared because the playing field is equal. If they know nobody else has one, then they commit crimes with no fear of repercussions, since they are the ONLY ones with a gun, which they typically possess illegally(hence the name "Criminal.)
