I still have my G1 haha I'm considering a new phone soon, and also not considering the idea. I was thinking the My Touch Slide. But then I realized it's running Sense UI so it won't ever really be up to date with the Android OS and it's QWERY seems pretty teenage IMO, anything respectable coming to T Mobile anytime soon? The Incredible and Evo seem to have finally got Android right, doesn't lag between scrolls, just kicks ass. I haven't herd one single thing headed to Tmobile remotely any good.

(It's kinda interesting to have watched Android develop and spread across carriers, see which carrier gets which phone, I'd say T Mobile is in LAST PLACE but isn't that how they always have been?)

Outside all of that how is everyone been?
How's the new phones, apps, personal life, etc etc.

Another ole timer stops by on the new release of froyo!

I'm good, loving my nexus one (which is available for tmobile I might add) as for tmobile phones I think they will probably get some good ones here soon in preparation for all the original g1 owners contract renewals coming up... and hopefully they will be good ones and not sidekick remakes....
 
i'm actually pretty excited for the sidekick twist. it's extremely early, but the specs are nice so far. if it has a more mature, droid-ish look instead of the old teenage hiptop look, then i might just be interested.

youre right, android has come a long way. remembering my preorder g1 and comparing it to to my nexus one with android 2.2, froyo, its kinda funny actually. i have a third phone, a g1. its eternally stuck on rc29(android 1.0) because of some hardware damage. im actually sitting here comparing them now. its really blowing me away how much android really has matured.
i think you should invest in a nexus one...

Hm, it looks good. I don't understand how the G1 had such a prime keyboard and yet anything new coming out doesn't come close. Sure I'd get use to it but idk just odd you'd mess with it especially coming from the same manufacture.

Say so eh? Like I said I think Android is finally being done right with the Incredible and Evo, no lag between scrolling and pages, screens are big enough, and no real complaints. I think Android is up to par enough to be featured in all touch screen devices with the release of 2.1



Haha Hiding under a rock what do you expect from an 18 year old Straight Edge kid? And yea, I always liked Android 1.5 and below, it was a pretty simple blend of colors. I'm still reminded that they changed the delete button space on the Messaging app haha that one got me. I've been thinking about the Nexus one, we all know I don't think any all touch phone is good less it's the Iphone (just because of it's touch input sensors idc about the hardware, app store rocks and kills Android though ESPECIALLY if you want to find something new/ - apps) But it seems with the new firmware and Cyan it'll be worth the jump. I need an Android with development going for it you know?

I've been good! Cheering up and working on being more productive with my time, lots of book reading and outdoor relaxing. I submitted a 5 poem manuscript to writebloody.com for a chance to advance and be published but I didn't make it, made it on the "Almost selected crew" which I'm still very proud of, if you go to their site you'll see my name under the section in news. When the Cliq wasn't available yet and I was flashing rough roms of it, I would say Moto Blur is going to be the scene kick killer, hopefully the new Sidekicks running Android will have Blur it would be a wise move.

yea I'm hoping too, I don't need a new phone but I know pops is going to want to buy me one for the birthday, and if there's anything good I'm going to go half and half with him, but it's not looking up for poor Tmobile.

eh, i personally like htc more than motorola when it comes to manufacturing phones. like you said, the g1 has an awesome keyboard, so i'd like to see a similar one implemented into the twist. i don't know all the details of the situation, but i think there's still a chance that the original sidekick danger ui could be implemented into android. i don't see that working, but that's always an option.

i'd much rather see the twist come out with vanilla froyo (or gingerbread if it's out then), but i don't see that happening.
