how is achilles portrayed as in the movie 'Troy'?

Achilles is the star, so to speak. Yes there is Helen and Paris, but the main focus of the movie is Achilles' journey. I'm not big on history, so i can't really make a comparison to the true story, but in the movie he his portrayed as the protagonist who fights for glory and immortality despite the fact that he hates the king who hired him.

I personally loved the way he was portrayed, because even though he was on the side of Sparta (who we're all supposed to be rooting against), you find yourself rooting for him and the Trojans at the same time. The battle between Achilles and Hectar was awesome for the same reason as well. By time the battle starts, you find yourself attached to both of the characters and kind of wishing they would change history to make it a stalemate, lol.

It's a great movie, I definatelly recommend it.

He is portrayed as an extremely skilled fighter. People think he's invincible, but he's really just very very good. Nothing supernatural about it. The arrow to the achiles tendon didn't kill him, it just stopped him from getting away as he was peppered with arrows from other directions.
