i need to write a paper relating the ukranian ship being attacked by pirates off the somalian coast to my college campus and why i should care about the event. umm... help?

Just try to think of any similar concerns a college campus might have vs a ship. The obvious concern that should jump out is SAFETY! College campuses need to protect their students against potential dangers, which could include being mugged or robbed.

um yeah... that's a hard one. Well anyone from the the college could have been on the ship attacked by pirates, and if pirates keep doing this it could make the cost of shipping goods overseas go up, causing inflation here in the US...

Chances are good that the Solamian Pirates are Muslims - most of the pirates in that area have been Muslims (remember The Barbary Coast Pirates)? Muslims are a threat to the security of the United States. There is your tie!
