I had a terrible fall semester my senior year (C's brought my average below a 3.0) and worked my butt off as a second semester senior to graduate with at least a 3.0
I ended with a 2.975, and it's embarrassing. Now I'm applying to jobs in many fields (investor relations, marketing, etc) but I'm dreading the interviews where I'm gonna be asked why I sucked so bad in college. I hovered around a 3.10 up until fall semester senior year. This has been bothering me because my parents have always stressed good grades in my family (my brother went to harvard, I graduated from NYU), and in high school I had a 3.75
Someone please tell me that grades aren't that important... I'm a hard worker but I know myself and I'm not a straight-A student anymore. Do hiring managers ever look past bad grades?
