Hi,
My name is Ron and I had lower back pain. I am posting this because I am fortunate enough to have basically cured it and wanted to help people with their own lower back pain. I can't promise what worked for me will work for everyone but it may be worth a try.
I had pretty bad lower back pain for about 6 months. I think I had sprained ligaments and it was painful to sit in many types of chairs.
I tried so many things from moving my computer screen to the ground to many different office chairs, etc and felt like I would never get better.
I believe what helped my back the most was:
1. Road biking. My friend who also had severe back pain told me he strengthened his back muscles and his back felt better. So I went biking every week. I had to adjust the seat to where it did not hurt anymore but this was probably the nuraber one thing that cured my back. Biking gives a great workout to your back and strengthens the muscles. After about 4 rides over the course of a month I think my back was significantly improved.
GET OFF YOUR DUFF AND GO BIKING.
2. My bad office chair was the cause of my back pain and I bought a simple lurabar support and keep it in my lurabar with a different chair. I got it from Relax the back and it is a blow up type.
3. Heat pack. I heated up a heat pack in the microwave and used it maybe twice a day. This helped relieve the pain and maybe speed healing.
The book I would recommend getting from the library is:
Treat Your Own Back by Robin McKenzie
I think this guy nails the problem more than almost all the other stuff I read which I found super helpful.
I am sure if you have lower back pain you are frustrated. Take a deep breath and keep on persevering and try new things. Most will not work but the ones that do will save you.
Ron
