i had figured they were going to settle down in the $2 range like $2.00 to $2.75 per gallon but now were at $3.25 (in my city) and still rising. when is it going to level off?
also why are they doing this? why doesn't the government do something about it?

Why does the government need to do anything about it when, as the CEO of either EXXON or Shell or somesuch, testifying before a Senate committee or such, told the Senator THE way to stop gas prices or actually drop them. In his words, as close as I can remember them from yesterday, he said that the American citizen ought to do exactly what he has to do as the CEO of his major corporation: If you don't like the prices, QUIT BUYING SO MUCH of it!! He said he has to do that all the time in his corporate choices in operating his company, so, why shouldn't that same corporate savvy be used by the average American. In my words, why can't we see that we hold all the cards in the matter, or do we no longer have the ba**s to face reality and act on it rather than whining that the government ought to do something. WE can do something, just like we did in the early 1970's when the first oil crisis came around. Have we lost our backbone, our stamina, our character, to significantly drop the gas prices with buying options that go FAR beyond a "Don't buy gas on Wednesdays" type program, which is incredulously stupid! WE hold all the cards, and I hear more whining and denial of power by people than anything else. Sounds irresponsible has hell to me, so, in that case, more power to EXXON, BP, Shell, and anybody else who can take the spineless American auto purchaser / driver "to the cleaners". God Bless you.

It will continue to climb until people no longer buy it! When sales drop off then and only then will they stop raising the price. The government collusion with the corporate entities is what is causing this upward price spiral!

Our govt isn't democratic by the people and for the people but a puppet state run by globalist bankers starting with the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank that isn't federal and doesn't have any reserves. Given that Bush is one of their foot soldiers doing the bidding of his alma mada, Skull and Crossbones - an Illuminati branch, and that he's a Texas oil man, he'll oppose any legislation that comes through. Everybody in Washington is afraid of the Illuminati who will murder anyone that gets in their way. Obama and Hillary and McCain are all set up by them and nobody makes it as far as being a presidential candidate without their approval.

Gas will no doubt hit $5 before that year is over. This is the simplest way to bring down our economy, get rid of our middles class and depopulate our country, if nuclear war doesn't do it or another Illuminati-manufactured disease, such as H5N1 bird flu.

Wow, that is a tough one. If things stay the same, ie, Iraqi/Venezuelan/Russian/Nigerian oil production continues to fall due to unrest and nationalization inefficiecies, the eviromental lobby in the USA/Europe stays strong enough to block upgrading or new refineries, the economies of China and India continue to explode, and governments continue to tax it ar 50-80% rate of the total cost, then there will be a continuing trend to higher prices. It will stop when supply catches up with demand, ie, new but much more expensive alternatives become lower cost then oil. I suspect that at 2008 dollars, it will level off at about $10 per gallon.

10 bazillion dollars! I can't even get my own father 2 take me 2 the library 2 do homework anymore! that's how high it is!t's lyk OMG!
