How heavy is an average camping backpack?

I am going camping next year as part of the Duke of Ed award, and I've never been camping and I am completely dreading carrying such a heavy thing on my back :L I was just wondering how heavy is the average camping backpack? I am only staying for 1-2 nights, but one of my friends told me that it was 30 kilos! And well, I'm worried haha.

Anyway, thanks in advance.
 
International backpackers keep it under twenty kilos, to allow them to take the backpack on planes. If they have everything needed so will you, and for two days you need one change of clothing. Plus something warm.
