How Has LPR Affected Your Life?

My husband has not been officially diagnosed at this point but we strongly feel he has LPR. His symptoms are classic LPR.

Excess mucous...however his so bad he only gets relief when hanging his head over the bed.

He has a sensation in throat that drives him nuts. He says it's a sensation he can't explain but that it's horrible.

And of course the other symptoms of LPR, constant clearing throat, very sore throat/larnyx area etc.

So I wanted to ask other LPR sufferers how has it affected your life? Has it stopped you from working? Has it made life utterly miserable? Do you suffer from any anxiety or depression because of it? Is it ruining your life?

Thank you in advance.

I have probably the worst case of LPR ever recorder. My ears burn constantly and my eyes burn as well. It has ruined my entire life. I have no life because of the pain. I am scared to eat because of the pain. I can't even swallow anymore. I have bile reflux, meRAB do not help with that. I also have a defective LES valve, so if I bend over liquid comes up into my mouth. Its really disgusting. I also have gastroparesis. I had nissen fundoplication done 2 months ago which did not help at all. I am in constant agony everday of my life. Ain't this disease fun?

yip sux and doctors here in NZ dont even no what it is. they only know gerd.
sore throat every morning, sore eyes, phamtom smells as acid irratates my olfactory nerves, horrible taste in moouth, burning tounge, blah blah
meRAB dont help all that much..curently doing alternative treamtne and trying to work out how to convince the guy who does the ph test to do a double one or even just one above the throat, then try to convince my surgeon who is taking my gallbladder out and must say is a very nice guy, but need to convince him so i can try to get a nisson as well...
at the moment im taking homeopathic spray that helps heaps with the stinging eyes and nose and am going to start doing saline nasal rinses everyday to help as well., it dosnt matter what i eat so i eat whatever except for really fatty foood which i never liked anyway and not alot of spices but other than that whatever, even the very occasional glass on wine

its horrible i agree but youhave to carry on and live life and not give up. there is an answer out there for us just keeep searching keep trying alternative stuff keep hassling your doctor

Yes, yes yes. It's affected my life both socially and professionaly. I don't think I could find another job. I've been with my boss for 23 yrs and he puts up with me. Some days he can't even understand me and has to answer the phone! I get really sick with sinus infections, broch, and even pnemonia. Have this constant sniffle, throat clearing, chronic cough and sometimes cough until I'm sick. There are days I just flat can't do much for being so SOB. It's ruined my teeth and I swear my hearing. My voice has not been the same for over 10 years and I worry about the life long effects this disease can cause. It's awful to never know how you're going to feel when you wake up in the morn.
I've tried every med there is and have seen Dr. after Dr. Going thru all that crap again at this time hoping to have surgery. I'm at that point of doing anything so I can enjoy my life again.
