How hard or easy is it to install an a/c in a camper that doesn't have one?

I'm looking at buying a camper that has no a/c, but has a vent where one should be. Is it difficult to put one in? If it's not, how do you install it? Is there a plug some where easy to plug into so you don't have to run wire? I haven't seen it, but does the thermastats usually work for a/c if the camper didn't come with a/c originally, but it is considered an add on for this model. Thanks for advice.
 
a top mounted a.c. unit , just attach and run the power cord to a outlet and plug in but most power inverters cant handle that much power so you might blow fuses if the line is used with other devices
