I am a student currently enrolled in DeVry University looking to transfer to the University of Southern California. I am a semester away from obtaining the sufficient amount of unit credits (General-Ed courses so far) so that I can submit an application to transfer without having to submit any SAT or ACT scores as I've never took them in high school.
I have contacted the USC admissions office and was informed that my credits would transfer to USC so long as my school is regionally accredited. DeVry is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
I currently have a GPA of 3.5 and plan on raising it once I complete my current semester. I am at the top of my class in my current Web Graphic Design course and I feel I am confident I can obtain one of the two letters of recommendation by an art instructor required by the USC School of Fine Arts.
On top of that, I am a military veteran with several years of honorable experience in the Mass Communications field. I am 25 years old so I will be applying as a non-traditional student if that matters in any way.
My portfolio work is centered mostly around photography and some design. Some of my work has made it as far as the front page of the official U.S. Navy and Department of Defense websites. Some of my photography has also been awarded and featured on major design networks such as DeviantArt and Behance.
Is there any sort of chance in getting accepted with these credentials? Thanks for any possible insight.
