how hard is it to fix the lifters on a 1981 yamaha trail bike?

i have a 1981 yamaha trail bike i think its an rt, it is making a clicking noise. i was told by the owner i just had to tighten the lifters. spending mony isnt an option so please dont say take it to a repair shop/
anyone have a video or step by step instructions on how to do this work?
