how frequently do i wax my bike with formula1 carnauba wax?

i have a can of formula1 carnauba wax.how frequently do i wax my bike with it for the best results?what are the advantages of wax polish?and mainly what are the disadvantages of applying?if you apply too frequently will it cause harm to my bike like fading of paint or something?
