How fast do you read books?

What's the fastest you've ever read a book?

I'm reading a book that's actually only about 600 pages long but it is dragging on FOREVERRRRRR. I've been reading it for nearly two weeks and I'm still only about 330 pages in.
Don't forget to include generally how long it takes you to read a book.

It really depends on the book. I've noticed that when I'm really into a book, or interested in it, I read it much faster. But if I have a hard time caring about what happens next, the book could last weeks.

welL i read a 500 page books in two days ,
and a 400 page book in one .
i think it depends on how good the book is .
cause the books i HAVE to read it takes me Like 3 weeks .
and the books i actualLy enjoy , it can take onLy one day .

I'm a total nerd here, so I can read about 300 pages an hour. But sometimes- and this might apply to you- some books I find books interesting, but I always find some thing better to do.

I've read a book in 5 hours. It's a long, boring ride between Dallas, TX and my hometown. I finished the book between Dallas and Waco.

That's not average, though. I generally read books in about two days unless I deliberately read it slow.

Depends on how good the book is. I can finish a 700 page book in two days if it's good. Sometimes it can take me 3 days to finish a 300 page book, or a week to finish a 500 page book. It all depends.

But generally, I read 550 words/minute in novels and about 400 words/minute in difficult text.

But I had a chemistry teacher who could read a 300 page book in an hour and half! (She was forced into a speed reading course as a child).

It depends on the book. If i really like it, like "Harry potter", i can read it in a day. But if I hate it like the "Good Earth" it takes me a month. Don't blame yourself for taking a long time reading a book. It happens.
