I was thinking of getting the Nikon D40.
One of the problems I have had with older digital consumer-grade cameras is that the flash does not work on scenes that are more than 12 feet away from the camera.
With these older cameras, when I photograph a scene in a room that is more than a dozen feet away, it winds up looking very dark because the flash couldn't handle the long distance.
It's been a number of years since I have bought a digital camera, and if I get something like the D40, will the flash disappoint me?
