I'm sure in ROTS Anakin is seen having the legs attached seperately from the suit, or maybe I'd nodded off at that point.
I think the answer might involve midichlorians (it usually does!).

Good God people who've actually sat through the "first" two Episodes and havent subconsciously erased the details from their minRAB in a vain attempt to remember only the grandure of the middle three.... I can't even say the name of the "first" film without imploding

hmm i think to asnwer that question you could ask "how does vadar eat?" i mean he can dump if he dont eat, can he? well probably can and if he cant eat/dump why did he stay alive for so long?
