Helping with even the smallest issue taught me much and gave me more than I could ask. I admit I was never one for volunteering, than again I never tried and was nervous to even start. I began volunteering in high school at a small animal shelter, some of the animals were so tortured I couldn’t help but stay awake praying for them. When I moved I didn’t know where to start, I was afraid of a not fitting in. I met a friend who asked me to join her at a beach clean-up. Afterwards I knew where I belonged, as soon as the next school year started I joined as many clubs as possible. Ever since than I can’t think of a better reason to go to an amazing college, get a great job, and earn lumps of money than to use it all to help the less fortunate.
