Two words-Fox News, Biased reporting, taking quotes out of context in order to promote a private agenda, intentional omission of facts, lack of objective sources.

The news tends to remain hooked on sex, violence, and cruelty. Entire shows, such as Nancy Grace focus exclusively on serial killers, pedophiles, and the worst criminal offenders. By showing horrific crimes on a daily basis - even if those crimes occur in .01% of the population - the watcher begins to think of such behavior as common, epidemic or perhaps even normal. Older serial killings such as those publicized in the "Black Dahlia" (1940s) occurred in the United States long before the news exploited them - however they pale in comparison to the media saturation we receive on modern serial killers such as Marilyn Manson, Son of Sam, the Green River killer, etc.

To the guy who bashed Fox news - ha. Other outlets are equally biased for the left. The BBC sounds like a well-spoken Al-Jazeera at times. And Katie Couric, don't get me started...
