devil dog is completely right on all that stuff. take his word. i don't know much about it except yes it is used still. my fiance has used it in iraq. i don't think you can take the classes whenever though, i think a new belt is offered every few weeks and you have to go for it then or wait til it comes around again. but don't take my word for it. i just know its very useful.
