How does the game of Softball work?

It is going to depend on where the runners are. Your coach is horrible if he hasn't taught you anything, unless you aren't paying attention.

I'm going to try to give the basics to you.

If nobody is on base and a ball is hit to you throw it to 2nd. Hit your cutoff as much as possible and run as hard as you can. Listen to your shortstop and catcher, they should be shouting things out to you.
 
Okayy. So I'm doing my first year of Softball this year... (It's middle school softball--- 7th grade!) My coach put me in as Right Outfield for tomorrow's game... and I really don't even know how the game works! I mean, I know you hit it, and run... but if its a grounder, or just a regular hit, I just don't know where to throw it to... once I have the ball...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
