How does the Army decide where you go for BCT?

The reason I ask is because I live in Louisville, Ky(essentially next door to Fort Knox), yet everyone I've known to go to BCT has gone to Fort Jackson. Why is this?
I'll probably be 14J, Tactical Air defense operator. I though AIT only depended on MOS>
 
Depend on your MOS. For example if you want to go finance you would go to Jackson because the finance school is also there. Saves money.
