How does poetry allow people to become so overly-confident?

I don't like when anyone displays c0ckiness in any subject. It just seems more frequent when it comes to poets. Poetry has to do with self. There is no "good" or "bad"; it is all personal opinion. People in here, who claim to have written/read poetry for a while (as though that necessarily proves them credible), speak as though there is right and wrong. There is no "terrible". I honestly, find a lot of pieces written by the top contributors and better known users in here to be bland, mechanical. They always feel the need to shove some poetic terminology up someone's a** as means to express that credibility. The majority of people don't know poetry. The majority dislike that "educated poet" crap. Inexperienced poetry is rather preferred. Everyone else tries too hard.
