Areas with a lot of different plants also tend to have a lot of different animals -- as each different kind of plant may have some specific animals that prefer to use it as a food source and/or for nesting.
Plant diversity is highest in the tropical rain forests. That's where there's plenty of water, plenty of humidity, plenty of sunlight, and it's warm all year 'round.
