How does forensic science connect with science as a whole?

Our teacher has given us branches of science and asked us to come up with a list stating reasons why that branch is even considered science. I was given Forensic Science. I'm out of ideas.... Help?

Please, no stupid answers like "Oh. It has the word science in it."

I don't need you, Mr. / Mrs. Obvious. Thanks anyway.
 
forensic science utilises the other branches of science (chemistry - organic, analytical and physical, biology, and physics) and applies it to law.
