I'm hoping someone that knows FAU's process for financial aid will answer this, but I'm open to anyone's input. I'm receiving financial aid for the first time and I really need the extra cash to pay off some credit cards and finish school smoothly. In addition to gratnts and subsidized stafford loan I also have Florida prepaid. FAU office of financial aid has told me that financial aid will pay the amount I accepted and then prepaid will blindly pay the rest and that any overage will be direct deposited to my account. Is this how it works? Or will the controller see that my account is already overpaid and not even bill florida prepaid? I'm counting on that overage to help me alleviate some credit card debt (also racked up from paying for books and tuition in the past) that is really causing some problems right now. Forgive me as I have asked questions related to this one in the past but never got a clear answer on it. Thanks everyone!
