How does David Hasslehoff get off judging peoples talents?

Regarding one of the America's Got Talent judges? Not to mention Pierce Morgan...what exactly gives him the right to judge talent? At least Sharon Osbourn is married to a Rock star and was Ozzie's manager in the early days. But how does the Hoff and this British guy get off judging talent?

They are D list celebrities that couldnt get another gig im sure. I mean, when was the last time you seen Hasslehoff in something? The spongebob squarepants movie lol
 
I guess the same way Paula Abdul of American Idol got to be a judge who can't sing well at all so I don't know how she can judge anyone's singing.
