just curious for your thoughts...

how do certain cultures perceive health and illness differently?
does culture make illness and health be perceived differently?
why is this?

I think health perceptions are very influenced by culture. Most cultures want good health; however a lot of these customs of achieving good health are different. For example here in america, we think of healthy as someone well-fit, exercises, eats healthily, and take good care of themselves. Some places in the remote pacific islands, they believe healthy is being overweight, eating a lot etc. and we would find that completely weird in westernized worlds.
Also some place like the tribes in Africa, South America, etc. believe that you can obtain good health by avoiding witch craft, etc.
I am going to be honest, I'm not sure if I've answered this question correctly but I thought I would give it a nice attempt.
