I just ordered and received the iPod Touch 3G and it has been nothing but a complete disaster.
Got it two days ago and here's what has happened so far.
Software glitches abound:
Music Library will play songs for a sporadic amount of time. When a song finishes, the iPod refuses to play any more songs. I can still navigate from album to album, but I can't get any more music to play. I have to reset the iPod to get any of the tunes to play. Two or three songs later, I have to reset the iPod again.
If left sitting too long, the iPod becomes unresponsive to the Wake/Sleep button and will not come back on. Repeated usage of the Wake/Sleep or Home button do no good. iPod has to be reset to come back on.
Downloaded Apps work sporadically or not at all. Erasing and re-syncing the apps does no good.
The iPod Music Library told me this morning that there were no songs in my library. Baffled, I connected the iPod to my computer to check the library. iTunes opened and synced with the Touch and, sure enough, all the songs were still ON my iPod but the iPod didn't seem to believe it. Had to resync the iPod to put music "back" in the library.
The sound quality is HORRIBLE
the BATTERY LIFE is horrible.
DONT GET AN IPOD. Zune pwns love that thing
