...that copyright media? I'm curious because I'd like to do something simliar...

I want to post say 10 seconds of a song from popular bands and songs but am I required to obtain a license just for those 10 seconds?

How does amazon.com posts previews with all the songs they sell on CD's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

cdnow does the same thing, allowing you a preview of the cd's they sell.

Not sure about the financial situation, with all those songs from all those cd's. Perhaps the artists allow the preview. After all, we are the ones buying their music, so we need to find out if it sounds good or not. I remember Wal-Mart had a little headphone setup years ago, where you could listen to snippets of the top-40 tunes. It was a good thing!
